Pastor: Jared is an Albuquerque guy from Greeley Colorado.

Education:

Jared graduated from the University of New Mexico with a double major in History and Sociology. Jared also received a Masters of Divinity and Masters of Christian Studies from Luther Rice University.

Interests:

Jared loves to spend time with his beautiful wife Tasha and girls Rebekah, Natalie, Lily and Isabel. Jared enjoys hitting the links, shooting hoops, chasing turkeys in the mountain, throwing weights around, playing sand volleyball, reading books on leadership, and consuming large amounts of ice cream on a regular basis.

Ministry Experience:

Youth pastor, 11 years, Albuquerque.

Former President of the Baptist Convention of New Mexico.

Former Vice Chairman on the Baptist Convention of New Mexico State Mission Board.

Vision:

In November of 2011 God gave Jared and his family the vision to start Anchor Church in Albuquerque. A church with the mission of making disciples, baptizing believers, growing healthy Christians and starting new churches. We have a vision to reach Albuquerque with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ in a fresh and exciting way.

We exist to “Anchor people to Christ, by planting churches that love God, love others and make disciples who do the same”

Sarah Goodrich

Children's Ministry Coordinator

Education:

Sarah is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Christian Ministries at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, TX. She hopes to one day earn her Masters Degree in Kids’ Ministries.

Interests:

Sarah enjoys spending free time with family and friends, reading, and spending time in God’s Word. She also enjoys traveling the world and seeing all God has created, but loves Walt Disney World in Florida the most.

Former Children’s Ministry Training Team, Baptist Convention of New Mexico

Vision:

The Lord has given Sarah a vision that all children and their families in New Mexico may come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord. In turn, she loves teaching children as well as helping to equip volunteers and other church leaders to lead children to Christ.

Cory Skipper

Pastor of Abide Church

Education: Cory attended and later graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BA in Organizational Communications with a minor in Psychology in 2018. After graduating from UNM, Cory moved to Fort Worth, TX with his wife, Sarah. He graduated from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with his Masters of Theological Studies in 2020.

Interests: Cory enjoys spending his free time with his wife Sarah and son Carter. Cory also enjoys camping, backpacking, hiking, all things to do with coffee, reading books, and dirt biking.

Vision: By God’s call into full time ministry, Cory and his family have followed God’s leading back to Albuquerque, both Cory and Sarah’s hometown and where they are passionate about spreading the Gospel. He has a love for God and His Word, as well as teaching from God’s Word and discipling other believers in the Word.

Megan Chery

Children's Ministry Coordinator

Education:

Megan has a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities from Florida State University

Interests:

Megan enjoys keeping busy with her husband, Christopher and their three boys, William, Jacob, and David. In her free time, she enjoys reading, running, drinking Starbucks at Target, and napping.

Ministry Experience:

Youth Ministry, 5 years (Tallahassee, FL and Albuquerque, NM)

Children’s Ministry, 8 years (Albuquerque, NM)

Vision:

As a fellow parent it is my goal to create a space where we can work together to point all children to the ultimate truth — that Jesus loves us and came to save us from our life of sin — so that they may walk in it all their lives.

Jair Largo

Worship Pastor

Family

Jair Portes Largo was born in Toledo, Cebu Philippines in 1990. He is married to Mary Junne Carbarles and together they have tow daughters named Zhmra Zhyre C. Largo (aka Zham), Zhyra Hymn Largo and a son named Zhyne Jaired Largo.

Education and calling

Jair graduated from Cebu University with a Bachelors in Elementary Education and General Education. He was raised in a Christian family; his father, Teodoro Lucob Largo, was a pastor of a church that was able to plant nine other churches. Now with the Lord, Jair seeks to follow in his father’s footsteps by serving the Lord as a music minister.

Music History

Jair first started in music ministry at the age of fifteen. From a young age Jair has had a passion to serve God and use his talents in worship and media arts. His father taught him to love God and give his best in ministry, no matter the circumstances. Jair plays the keyboard, drums, guitar, bass guitar, and ukulele.

Freetime

In his free time Jair loves to play basketball, volleyball, table tennis, chess, and badminton.

Fun Fact

Jair and his family immigrated to the United States in 2018 and 2019. Mary Junne came in 2018. After a long year apart, God answered our prayers for Jair and Zham to immigrate to the US in 2019.

Jared Urioste

Custodian

Jared Urioste brings a servant’s heart and a steady presence to the Anchor Church team. A lifelong Miami Dolphins fan and music lover, Jared also works full-time with Albuquerque Public Schools as a custodian at Desert Ridge Middle School.

When Anchor Church transitioned from meeting at the middle school to our current location on San Mateo, Jared was invited to come along—and we’re incredibly grateful he did. As our go-to guy for facilities maintenance, Jared faithfully cares for our building so ministry can happen smoothly every week.
